Providing services for people with disabilities who live in their own home or family home that provide support and/or training in the community.
This includes;
Cueing, guidance, supervision, training or instructional support to complete routine household care and maintenance.
Household safety knowledge and skills, tenancy support and advocacy, Training, assistance, support and/or guidance with:
- Budgeting and assistance to manage money.
- Cooking, meal-planning and nutrition.
- Healthy lifestyle skills and practices.
- Household chores, including minor household maintenance activities.
Note: The person is responsible for the cost of the maintenance replacement items or products. * Personal needs purchasing.```Qualifications:```
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities preferred
- Knowledge of resident rights and person-centered care principles
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Compassionate and a desire to help others and make a difference.

- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or assignmentsNote: This position may require lifting, as well as working in homes occupied by the person served. Summary
As a Direct Support Professional, you will be instrumental in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities. Reporting to the program manager, your primary responsibilities will include providing compassionate caregiving, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring residents' rights are upheld. Your core skills in patient care and communication will be vital in fostering a supportive environment. Additionally, your premium skills in first aid, nutrition, and home & community care will enable you to effectively meet the diverse needs of our residents, promoting their independence and well-being.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
