Cardinal Messenger is seeking candidates to join our team in providing premium courier services for corporate entities throughout Hampton Roads.
Our dispatch teams are responsible for handling all incoming orders and dispersing to drivers in a timely and efficient manner per company and customer standards.
Available Shift Coverage:
3pm - 11pm
and weekends.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Answer multi-line phones calls and emails from customers in a kind and professional manner
- Correctly enter orders into dispatch software as they arrive within five (5) minutes of receiving via email or fax (Immediately during phone calls)
- Double check to ensure all pertinent information is entered into dispatch software -including pieces and weight, contact names and phones numbers, correct delivery addresses, correct delivery locations, special instructions etc.
- Verbally confirm special instructions are understood by the drivers before sending orders
- Figure out best routing possible before dispatching to drivers
- Update clients on movements for each order, either through customer specific portals or via email / phone call, within fifteen (15) minutes of completion
- Identify and inform clients of any issues pertaining to their orders
- Submit Hard Copy POD and other client documents to clients in a timely manner as requested.
- Trouble shoot and find solutions to any issues that may occur
- Effectively communicate information to drivers when orders have been altered
- Keep drivers on task with their specific responsibilities and ensure clients’ needs are being satisfied
- Communicate driver schedule changes with all team members
- Assist in filing driver paperwork, including end of month roll out
- Assist in training new drivers to ensure clients’ needs are met
- Provide quotes to customers
- Report Tolls / Parking / Wait Times to client and accompany with proper documentation
Skills
- Proven customer support experience or experience as a client service representative
- Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
