Behavior Consultant (Contracted Position)
Location: Warsaw, Plymouth, and Logansport Areas
Position Type: Part-Time/Full-Time, Flexible Hours
Compensation: $66.52 per Hour
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Behavior Consultant (BC) to work in the Warsaw, Plymouth, and Logansport areas. This is a contracted position offering flexible hours, with a competitive rate of $66.52 per hour.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies, ensuring that documentation is completed in a timely, professional manner.
- Provide positive behavior supports and individualized, evidence-based interventions.
- Collaborate with individuals, families, and staff to develop and implement person-centered functional behavior assessments and behavior support plans.
- Attend mandatory quarterly meetings at Cardinal Services.
- Participate in all appointments related to the supported individual’s behavioral and mental health.
- Ensure effective communication with individuals, providers, family members, staff, and other members of the treatment team.
- Maintain personal availability for individuals on the caseload.
- Provide crisis intervention, offering positive coaching and support, while also being able to deescalate or redirect situations as needed.
- Adapt communication to effectively engage with individuals in their preferred mode of communication.
- Support individuals with challenging behaviors, mental health needs, or medical concerns.
- Establish clear boundaries with clients and maintain assertiveness when needed.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, or a related human service field is required.
- At least two years of experience in providing direct behavioral services, including knowledge of clinical assessments, dual diagnoses, the neuro/biological etiology of behavior symptoms, and psychopharmacology is preferred.
- Ability to coordinate services under the guidance of clinical supervision and training from a Health Service Provider in Psychology (HSPP).
- Proficient in using a laptop/tablet with internet access for work documentation and must be computer literate.
- Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and any other necessary screenings.
- A valid driver’s license, insured vehicle, and safe driving history are required.
- Must be able to pass and maintain required training certifications, such as CPR/First Aid.
Working Conditions:
As a contracted employee, the Behavior Consultant will primarily work from home or in a designated workspace at Cardinal Services. You will also be required to travel to the homes of participants and engage in community-based activities. Flexibility is key, as you may need to adjust to changing needs, activities, and locations. The position may involve extended hours, evenings, and occasional out-of-town travel.
