What are the responsibilities and job description for the Route Driver Supervisor position at Cardinal Vending and Markets, LLC?
The role of the Route Supervisor is to lead and coach route drivers and assure they follow company policies and procedures to properly and successfully serve our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for training and development of route drivers
- Provide support and guidance to route drivers to ensure they stay on schedule.
- Maintain positive customer relations by visiting accounts regularly.
- Ensure proper Driver check in and check out procedures are being followed
- Monitor daily meter and inventory accountability activity at machine level, and inventory accountability at truck level as well as other accountability reporting.
- Train route drivers in currency acceptance procedures, conducting maintenance on vending/market machine repairs and utilization of handheld scanners.
- Assist route drivers in order preparation so drivers have the right products in sufficient quantities to service their accounts.
- Perform route driver duties when necessary.
- Ride with route drivers to audit compliance to Company procedures and policies.
- Follow up and respond to all customer calls and emails within 24 hours.
- Inspect trucks to monitor their cleanliness, orderliness, safety (compliance to FDOT regulations) and mechanical condition.
- Inspect vending machines for compliance to plan-o-grams, proper inventory levels, pricing, cleanliness, spoilage levels and product freshness.
- Perform routine service calls and assist on equipment moves as needed.
- Assist in development or modifications of route schedules.
- Perform other duties as required by the Branch Manager.
Requirements:
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Organization skills to produce quality work, within required specifications, to meet tight schedules.

- Self-starter going beyond specific job responsibilities to ensure goals are achieved or exceeded.
- Experience running a delivery route.
- Must be able to operate a large truck safely.
- Basic training skills.
- Customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of all types of vending equipment.
- Ability to operate a handheld scanner competently and train others how to operate one competently.
- Experience in assigning and following up on work assignments.
- Ability to maintain and project a professional appearance at all times.
· Minimum three-five years of supervisory experience
· Good oral and written communication
· Excellent interpersonal skills for communicating with fellow workers and customers
· Must be proficient at using a computer and database software
· Be familiar and comfortable with using a handheld for inventory and other functions
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

· Must have and maintain a Valid Driver’s License
· Must have a driving record with no major moving violations for the last 3 years*
Drug Screen and Background Check Required
**Major moving violations include, but are not limited to, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence, and reckless driving. Minor moving violations include, but are not limited to, speeding, driving too close,
failure to stop, and improper lane changes. Driving records, including minor moving violations, will be evaluated according to Florida Fresh Vending guidelines to determine eligibility for the position.
