Clerical Assistant needed for a cardiac research clinic. Must have previous work experience in a healthcare/medical setting. Candidate must be able to perform a wide range of administrative and office support activities for the Manager to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization. Must be a multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual fluency skills highly preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
Must have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assemble, organize and maintain paper and electronic records.
- Answer multi-line phones, schedule appts and procedures
- Verify insurance, obtain referrals
- Greet patients and visitors, assisting staff as needed.
- Mail-out / Fax / File / Scan documents.
- Will perform heavy clerical duties, filing, and sorting.
- Collecting documentation from various sources.
- Assessing, organizing and coding documentation.
- Creating and updating files, and filing documentation in appropriate files.
- Destroying outdated files following protocol, or moving these to inactive storage.
- Retrieving records on request and forwarding to relevant parties.
- Making copies of and delivering records.
- Executing authorized changes to filing system.
- Assisting with phone inquiries if needed.
- Receiving and forwarding mail and courier packages.
- Must have a reliable vehicle and current Driver's License in order to run errands as needed.
