What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Scribe position at Cardiology and Vascular Associates, P.C.?
Join Our Dynamic Team at Cardiology and Vascular Associates (CAVA)!
Are you someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment? If so, we want you to bring your skills to Cardiology and Vascular Associates (CAVA) – one of Michigan’s leading cardiology practices.
Founded in 2000, CAVA is proud to offer top-tier cardiovascular care through a team of 11 board-certified cardiologists and 8 mid-level providers, serving patients across 5 office locations and multiple area hospitals. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented, driven Medical Scribe to become a part of our mission of providing exceptional patient care.
The Role: As a Medical Scribe, your core responsibility will be to accompany the physician during patient consultations, accurately documenting the details of the encounter in real time. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive physician notes (such as H&P or Progress Notes), which will become part of the patient’s permanent medical record. These notes will reflect the patient’s clinical journey and the care provided, ensuring that all documentation is precise and compliant with HIPAA regulations.
In this role, you’ll directly interact with the EMR system (Next Gen), and will play a crucial part in maintaining accurate, up-to-date medical records. Should any discrepancies arise in the documentation, you'll be expected to promptly communicate with the physician for necessary revisions, ensuring the integrity of the patient’s record.
While your primary duties will focus on medical documentation, you will also be a key member of our corporate team, helping with a variety of office tasks as needed, especially in a fast-moving clinical environment. Flexibility, teamwork, and an unwavering attention to detail are essential!
Key Responsibilities:
- Accompany physicians during patient visits, documenting patient interactions in real-time.
- Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant documentation in the Next Gen EHR system.
- Prepare and finalize physician notes, including H&Ps and Progress Notes, as part of the patient's permanent medical record.
- Proactively address discrepancies in documentation by collaborating with the physician to make necessary revisions.
- Contribute to a collaborative and efficient work environment, supporting patient care and assisting colleagues when needed.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of scribe experience (preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in EHR systems, particularly Next Gen, and comfortable with computers.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptability: Willingness to travel to various office locations as needed.
- Team Player: Ability to work in a high-volume environment and multi-task when necessary, all while providing exceptional support to the clinical team.
