We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our cardiology healthcare team. Duties
- Prepare charts for physician daily patient load.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in a dermatology clinic setting.
- Prepare patients for their appointments by taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
- Administer basic life support as needed and assist in emergency situations.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems, including coding for billing purposes.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care instructions.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Collaborate with other healthcare staff to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Previous experience in a clinical cardiology setting is highly desirable, particularly inpatient or outpatient care.
- Knowledge of basic life support techniques and emergency medicine protocols.
- Familiarity with medical-surgical procedures and physiology knowledge is a plus.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and understanding of medical coding practices.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently under pressure.
