The Administrative Assistant provides essential support for the Pritikin Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation (ICR) program at the Cardiovascular Institute of Central Florida (CVICFL). This role involves assisting with patient intake, managing enrollment, verifying insurance, scheduling, and coordinating patient services. The Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring smooth patient transitions into the program and liaising with the healthcare team.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist with patient enrollment, including initiating the enrollment process and scheduling patient sessions (40%).
- Verify insurance eligibility for ICR patients, ensuring all insurance and financial logistics are handled efficiently (20%).
- Follow up with potential program entrants, ensuring that all steps are taken for smooth enrollment and participation (15%).
- Ensure a smooth transition as patients begin the ICR program by coordinating necessary logistics and providing patient support (15%).
- Coordinate with referring healthcare providers and monitor medical record data to capture eligible patients (5%).
- Collaborate with referring cardiologists to ensure the referral and enrollment process is seamless for ICR-eligible patients (5%).
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- CMAA (Certified Medical Administrative Assistant) certification preferred.
- Experience with insurance verification and coordination is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to resolve patient concerns and ensure smooth processes.
- Experience working in cardiac rehab
- Participation in Pritikin ICR Deep Dive, Remote Training, and Team Training
