Mergers and Acquisitions Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY

The M&A Analyst will support the origination, structuring, negotiation and execution of acquisitions, and investments for Cardone Ventures. In this role, the M&A Analyst will work with the Buy/Sell team to support potential acquisition and investment opportunities

OBJECTIVES

• Develop detailed financial models for M&A transactions
• Participate in all aspects of due diligence activities for additional context on active deals
• Assist with the preparation of investment memoranda and presentations for the executive team
• Conduct research and analysis to screen and qualify potential M&A opportunities
• Assist with the development of broader strategic initiatives and investment strategies
• Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and Ad Hoc reports, tools and Excel dashboards
• Normalize and develop financial systems to increase efficiency in reporting
• Aggregate past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends and make recommendations for improvements
• Provide financial evaluation of opportunities

COMPETENCIES

• Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions
• Ability to gather and skillfully analyze financial data and identify the information needed to solve a problem effectively
• Strong understanding of financial models, budgets and financial reporting packages
• Demonstrated ability and experience developing and managing complex financial models
• Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships across the organization
• Driven, self-starter with a passion for excellence
• Ability to work with project management software (e.g.,Asana) and G-Suite (Slides and Docs)
• Ability to identify inefficiencies in financial reporting and propose a potential solution
• Strong understanding of how to perform variance analysis
• Strong aptitude for interpreting financial statements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 2-4 years of M&A in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, corporate finance, or management consulting experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
