Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Communications, the Communications Director, HR & Employee Engagement, will support the full range of people communications for our employees across multiple locations in the US, including creating written and other content devoted to benefits, organizational changes, and employee engagement. Spearheading an annual communications plan for HR in collaboration with internal HR, business unit, and executive leadership clients while creating and leading a predictable, streamlined, consistent flow of communications with a clear process for participants (internal clients, those who review and approve) is a key objective of this role. The ability to influence/guide others to follow the best and most efficient practices for communications as the function evolves to support the company’s growth as a financial services leader is also critical. In short, raising the standard for internal communications is the goal.
As part of a small collaborative Communications team, flexibility and the willingness to pitch in to help with other communications needs is an important part of the job. Other workflows include executive and internal communications in support our business leaders across the company, which requires demonstrated success as a capable writer, able to handle significant volume.
The Director will work both independently, and as part of a team, take initiative, and interact with all levels of the company, both in-person and remotely. The ideal candidate is passionate about corporate communications content creation including: business writing; grammar, spelling and punctuation; and can drive strategic messages to key internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
Strategy, Planning, and Implementation
Leads the creation and implementation of HR and employee engagement communications plans including corporate social responsibility, culture, events, benefits and compensation, organizational and people changes
Creates messaging as well as developing the content to support the HR and employee engagement plan, and evaluates the effectiveness of completed plans for continuous improvement.
Helps develop and raise awareness of CardWorks’ recruitment brand externally and across CW companies.
Supports and influences diversity, equity & inclusion; culture, corporate social responsibility, and events communications
Partners on company-wide communications planning and execution
Implements Communications plans in cooperation with SVP, Communications, internal clients, and external vendors as appropriate
Works with SVP, Communications and Technology to relaunch Intranet
Creates/Writes content for multiple types of communications vehicles, including online news, print news, social media, and employee announcements
Shares in executive team communications support as needed
Helps develop company-wide, business unit, and project specific messaging as needed
Handle event-type logistics for - All Hands Meetings, Town Halls, and ‘Live with the CEO’ sessions
Plans with attention to communications data analytics, and measurement
Best Practices and Management of the Function
Collaborates with the Communications team and other key stakeholders to evaluate opportunities for improvement on all communications, both internal and external
Provides advanced writing and editing expertise on the production of communications targeting the company’s employees, prospective employees, and external audiences, with a creative mind-set
Contributes as a subject matter expert to the development, implementation, and ongoing support of communications channels
Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required, advanced degree desirable
10 years of excellent writing and editing experience in corporate communications, PR, or journalism field required
Experience working with and writing for department leaders and senior executives, especially HR, in corporate communications environment highly desirable
Familiarity with review and approval process for internal and external communications
Public company experience preferred
Media relations experience is a plus as the company plans to become more proactive in communicating externally going forward

Salary : $123,000 - $156,000
