Care-A-Lot is seeking a full-time Assistant Director/ Teacher to join our family! At Care-A-Lot we celebrate differences and focus on building relationships between children and teachers. The Assistant Director / Teacher Position is a multi-faceted position that includes responsibilities of both the Teacher, as well as contributing to the management and leadership of the center. Assistant Directors will spend a portion of their time in the classroom as a teacher or center support, and will assist the director in the office between 10-20 hours on an average week. The assistant director will adhere to all Lead teacher job responsibilities. In addition to these responsibilities:
- The Assistant Director will embody the Care-A-Lot mission and act as an extension of the Director.
- The Assistant Director will dress professionally at all times.
- The Assistant Director will adhere to all Care-A-Lot policies, OCFS regulations, and requirements from other monitoring organizations.
- The Assistant Director will assist the Program Director in maintaining adherence of policies and regulations throughout the center and the childcare team.
- The Assistant Director will assume responsibility for the program as needed in the director’s absence.
- The Assistant Director will learn and be able to effectively execute the day-to-day, and week-end duties of the Program Director.
- The Assistant Director will maintain excellent communication with the Director.
- The Assistant Director will attend Weekly Meetings with the Program Director to discuss program needs, goals and progress.
- The Assistant Director will fill in knowledgeably for the Program Director for any absence including scheduled vacations.
- The Assistant Director will assist with the staffing recommendations and the hiring process.
- The Assistant Director will assist with dissemination and acknowledgment of weekly staff schedule.
- The Assistant Director will assist with light office work as needed included but not limited to: Organization and maintenance of child files, tracking immunizations in child files and on Brightwheel, organization and tracking of training in training binders, and month end office work, including but not limited to CCTA, CACFP, and general attendance for staff and students.
- The Assistant Director will maintain payroll notes when Program Director is not in attendance.
- The Assistant Director will hold CPR/FA and MAT Certification.
- The Assistant Director will have open availability for all shifts to assist the program director in covering staffing shortages and maintain ratios.
Lead Teacher
Duties:
- Develop and implement, and/or support teachers as they implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for children
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Supervise and engage children in various educational and recreational activities
- Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents/guardians
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a well-rounded educational experience
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, behavior, and academic performance
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a childcare or educational setting
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and practices
- Ability to create engaging and interactive lessons that promote learning
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, compassion, and the ability to work well with young children
