Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
Job Summary: The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is responsible for assisting surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room is prepared and all necessary instruments are available. The CST also maintains a sterile field and assists with patient positioning.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare operating room for surgical procedures
2. Set up sterile surgical field
3. Assist surgeons during procedures
4. Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons
5. Maintain accurate count of all surgical instruments
6. Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures
7. Clean and sterilize instruments after procedures
8. Assist with patient positioning and transport
9. Communicate effectively with surgical team
10. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Completion of accredited surgical technology program
3. Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
4. Strong communication and organizational skills
5. Ability to work well under pressure
6. Attention to detail and accuracy
7. Knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments
8. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
9. Flexibility to work varying shifts
10. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects
