Job title: Labor and Delivery Nurse
Job Summary:
A Labor and Delivery Nurse is responsible for providing care and support to women during childbirth. They must be knowledgeable about the labor process, be able to assess the physical and emotional needs of patients, and ensure a safe and comfortable birthing experience.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor fetal heart rates and contraction patterns
- Administer medications as needed
- Assist with labor coaching and pain management techniques
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for delivery
- Assist with newborn care immediately following delivery
- Document patient assessments and interventions
Qualifications and Skills:
- RN license
- BSN or higher preferred
- Labor and Delivery experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
