Job Title: Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE)
Job Summary:
As a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, you will provide compassionate and competent care for patients who have experienced sexual assault or abuse. You will conduct thorough examinations, document findings, collect forensic evidence, and provide emotional support to survivors.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive physical exams on victims of sexual assault
- Collect and preserve forensic evidence
- Work closely with law enforcement and legal teams
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to survivors
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and victim advocates
- Document all findings and provide court testimony when necessary
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Completion of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training program
- Strong clinical assessment and forensic skills
- Ability to work in a high-stress environment with empathy and sensitivity
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to sexual assault
