We provide care for patients wherever they call “home” – private residences, assisted living facilities, long-term care facilities, hospitals, group homes and veteran’s facilities. Patients who need acute symptom management can be admitted to our 20-bed Kaplan Family Hospice House, which opened in 2005 as the first licensed inpatient hospice facility in Massachusetts.
Palliative Care for Advanced Illness
For patients who aren’t ready for hospice, our palliative care program adds a layer of support for patients with serious illness by providing relief from pain and other symptoms; assisting families in making difficult medical decisions; coordinating care with the patient’s physicians; and providing emotional and spiritual support.

Job Description
Hours: Monday-Friday; 8AM-4:30PM; full time; 40 hours
Summary:
Reporting Vice President for Philanthropy, the Donor Relations Manager will develop and implement plans to cultivate and retain all donors. S/he will create and implement annual, capital, memorial, and major gift donors. Based in the Greater Boston office, the Donor Relations Manager will maintain a portfolio of major gift prospects. S/he will work closely with senior leadership, leadership volunteers, colleagues, and community leaders to identify and generate major gift support.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Five to seven years relevant experience, encompassing major or planned gifts fundraising; CFRE preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with major donors, leadership staff, and volunteers.
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Energetic self-starter, able to take initiative and work independently.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook. Development database knowledge required; Raiser’s Edge preferred.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
