LVN Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the RN Supervisor to administer prescribed medications and treatments and do related work as directed.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate instructions to Direct Care Staff for nursing care needs or residents.
- Coordinate instructions to Direct Care Staff with the QMRP to monitor programming and behavior goals.
- Render general nursing care to residents assigned.
- Administer prescribed medications, enteral feedings and treatments in accordance with the Physician's orders an in accordance with approved nursing techniques and facility procedures.
- Asses and observe residents, record changes of condition and notify the RN Supervisor and/or Director of Nurses.
- Monitor resident vital signs per facility policy.
- Follow documentation policy and procedures.
- Administer medical enemas, suppositories as ordered by the Physician.
- Perform catheterizations and obtain urine specimens as ordered by the Physician.
- Responsible for cleaning and organizing medication rooms, nurse’s stations and medication carts.
- Perform nursing summary and quarterly assessments and other documentation as directed by the Director of Nurses.
- Ensure that all resident needs are being met in accordance with instructions of the Physician.
- Order medications and refill from the Pharmacy per the Physician's orders.
- Maintain and clean devices and equipment.
- Perform routine checks of crash carts and oxygen tanks.
- Promote positive working relations with staff, families, resident representatives, consultants, physicians and other outside agencies.
- Consults with RN Supervisor or Director of Nurses on specific nursing issues and interpretation of policies to ensure resident needs are being met.
- Conduct initial investigation on all reported incidents and obtain written statements as appropriate.
- Coordinate with the Program Team (QMRPs, Program Coordinators) to ensure resident needs are being met. Making sure Implementation plans are done prior to due date to be able to get signed by guardian/LAR.
- MARS do be done prior to month being over, if new medications are added during the month to be kept updated on a daily/monthly basis.
Specific Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold valid current license issued by the state.
- Must have knowledge of nursing principles, methods and procedures.
- Knowledge of techniques, theory and practices of professional nursing.
- Knowledge of, and ability to apply educational and training techniques, ability to plan, organize and direct a variety of nursing activities, ability to plan and supervise the work of others.
- Ability to establish effective relations with physicians, residents, families, consultants and co-workers.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.50 per hour
