Assistant Intake Specialist:

  • Compensation: $19-22/hr (Non-Exempt)
  • Type: Full-Time
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am-5 pm
  • On site in Irvine, CA

About Care Partners: 
Care Partners At Home is seeking an Intake Specialist to join our team and provide exceptional support to clients through the authorization process, referral navigation, and optimizing their benefits. This individual will be responsible for guiding clients through the necessary steps to begin services, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to make informed decisions about their care. A successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to helping others. REQUIREMENTS for Intake Specialist:

  • A high school diploma or GED (bonus points for an associate or bachelor’s degree!). 
  • Experience in healthcare or customer service is great—but we welcome new grads! 
  • Exceptional communication skills—you listen with empathy and speak with confidence. 
  • Proactive, organized, and ready to juggle tasks like a pro. 
  • A team player with a positive, can-do attitude. 
  • Tech-savvy with scheduling tools and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). 
  • Multilingual? Spanish, Vietnamese, or Korean speakers are a big plus! 

Essential Functions:

  • Master the Care Partners brand and service offerings. 
  • Become an expert in California’s Medi-Cal programs, like CalAIM. 
  • Use your expertise to educate prospective clients and qualify them for services. 
  • Partner with community organizations and field inquiries about our programs. 
  • Ensure seamless onboarding for eligible clients by handling screenings, authorizations, and scheduling. 
  • Field inbound/outbound calls. 
  • Maintain impeccable records and contribute to growth by tracking call volume and outreach efforts, and other duties as assigned. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality about client services and care. 

Job Description

  • High school graduation/General Education Degree (GED) required; associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare-related field
  • Advanced computer skills in business applications
  • Possess strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with diverse populations; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must possess a current driver’s license and a dependable insured automobile
  • Must present a professional appearance and promote a positive work environment
  • Strong grasp of federal and state laws and ethical issues pertaining to  confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Knowledge of office equipment (i.e., printer, fax, computer) use and simple maintenance
  • Ability to apply problem-solving techniques to assigned duties
  • Ability to multi-task effectively

  • Participates in and supports the agency’s performance improvement activities
  • Complies with all agency policies, and procedures
  • Maintains confidentiality of client, Associate, and agency operations
  • Promotes client, personnel, and office safety
  • Schedules service visits per directions of supervisor or designee
  • Assists with the referral/intake process for clients needing agency services
  • Verifies third-party insurance coverage (if required)
  • Presents a professional appearance and promotes a positive work environment
  • Serves as receptionist/operator as assigned
  • Assists in obtaining client satisfaction surveys
  • Performs other duties as requested
