- Compensation: $360,000 - $425,000 *Based on Experience
- Type: Full-Time

REQUIREMENTS:
Education
- Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree required
Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation
- Current active Medical License for the state in which practicing, DEA number
- Not on Preclusion list
- Board Certification in a primary care field
- A minimum of one year working with the frail or elderly.
- Ten (10 years) clinical experience
- Ten (10 years) management or supervisory experience
Essential Functions:
Functional Category: Administrative 60%
- Reports to the Regional and Chief Medical Officers; accountable for utilization metrics (inpatient, ED, specialist, nursing home, pharmacy) and performance against budget and organizational KPIs.
- Sets the standard for high-quality geriatric care across California centers.
- Leads quality initiatives and ensures delivery on Quality Composite Scores in collaboration with the Quality Department.
- Ensures clinical compliance and achievement of center-level goals (participant satisfaction, contribution margin, etc.).
- Drives regional and national strategic initiatives aligned with mission.
- Coordinates regular meetings with Center Medical Directors to align on workflows and goals.
- Builds strong cross-functional relationships with center leadership for smooth operations.
- Supports various projects impacting primary care as directed by medical leadership.
Functional Category: Supervision 35%
- Oversees recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of primary care staff in partnership with the Regional Medical Officer and HR.
- Provides clear direction and motivation through effective leadership and example.
- Ensures compliance with organizational policies and employment laws.
- Manages performance, conducts timely evaluations, and addresses disciplinary or corrective actions as needed.
- Fosters a positive, team-oriented culture focused on morale and collaboration.
- Leads regular team and 1:1 meetings to support development, communication, and alignment with organizational goals.
Functional Category: Primary Care - variable, averaging 5%
- Provides back-up medical care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up for PACE participants.
- Documents all care in compliance with PACE policies; provides input on EMR improvements and enhancements.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning to support holistic participant care.
- Oversees or supports 24/7 physician coverage, including after-hours call scheduling.
- Contributes to quality improvement initiatives and helps develop new medical programs aligned with strategic goals.
