Under the general supervision of the Health Record Technician II, Supervisor, or Office Services Supervisor II, the Office Assistant (OA) (Typing) in Health Information Management (HIM) is responsible for performing a wide variety of clerical duties requiring adaptation to various situations, judgment as to which learned work method to apply for the desired result, and the ability to communicate effectively. The OA (Typing) performs document review, scanning, filing, typing, and other office duties. The OA (Typing) performs duties as directed and consistent with HIM Policies and Procedures.
Minimum Qualifications :
Either I :
One year of experience in California state service performing the duties of an Assistant Clerk.
Or II :
Education : Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade; or completion of a business school curriculum; or completion of a clerical work experience training program such as those offered through the Welfare Reform Act (One year of clerical work experience may be substituted for the required education).

Candidates new to CDCR / CCHCS are required to submit a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing / evaluation thereafter.
