Gurwin Health Care Agency is seeking a Geriatric Care Provider to join our team in providing personalized care to our elderly clients in Nassau County, New York.
This fulfilling role requires a certified home health aide who can assist patients with daily living activities, promote independence, and maintain a safe and clean environment.
About the Job:
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, or patients requiring home care is preferred.
- Provide personal care to patients in their homes, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical personnel.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
Key Requirements:
- You must be a Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) in the state of NY.
- You need to have reliable transportation.
- Able to work a minimum of 35 hours/week and every other weekend.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Fluent in English (able to speak and understand).
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality.
- Ability to cook simple meals and perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
- Satisfactory completion of New York State Health Department-approved HHA Training Program or equivalency.
- Demonstrated adequate literacy and simple arithmetic skills.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
