Position Overview
Be a part of a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming generations by promoting personal empowerment and economic self-sufficiency. As the Senior Vice President of Finance, you will oversee daily departmental operations and collaborate with leadership to execute finance and accounting strategies.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations of the Finance Department, including payroll, accounts payable / receivable, cash receipts, billing, and collections
- Ensure accurate coding of all accounting entries in the system
- Provide financial strategic planning, guidance, and execution; advise the CEO, Chief of Staff, and Board of Directors
- Maintain and review financial data for accuracy and policy compliance
- Prepare and balance general ledger and revenue accounts through journal entries
- Create accurate financial reports, statements, budgets, and forecasts in a timely manner
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts
- Monitor cost accumulation and maintain journals, ledgers, and accounts
- Participate in contract and grant applications
- Deliver accurate financial information to leadership and auditors
- Oversee and execute organizational audits
- Develop and manage Finance Department policies, procedures, and standard operating practices
- Support organizational goals through financial planning and compliance with legal and regulatory benchmarks
- Generate and provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Drive best financial practices within the organization
