Senior Associate, Fund Finance & Investor Relations - Newport Beach
A tier-1 commercial real estate firm in Newport Beach is seeking a Fund Finance & Investor Relations Senior Associate to join their rapidly growing team. Reporting to the Manager of Fund Finance & Investor Relations, this role will assist with investor communications, accounting, financial reporting and financial statement review. This is a great role for a Senior Associate looking to transition out of the Big 4 or a top regional firm and work for one of the fastest growing commercial real estate firms in the US.
Responsibilities - Fund Finance & Accounting
- Assist with reporting for each Fund's overall performance and institutional investor's capital account
- Review financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS
- Participate in discussions and preparation of investment valuations and build out quarterly investment valuation summaries
- Review cash flow projection models and update fund models to track returns and investment level performance.
- Work with fund administrator to assist in preparation and distribution of financial reporting packages for investors and senior leaders
- Help build out automated reporting to ensure accurate and efficient fund data
- Perform ad hoc financial planning models and performance reporting requests
Investor Relations
- Lead capital calls and distributions, including review of individual notices to investors and summaries of historical capital activity.
- Work closely with Investor Relations team on current and potential ad hoc investor requests
- Help standardize investor reporting, including historical investment performance and returns.
- Monitor and review Investor Reporting database and participate in updating fundraising materials and ongoing fundraising support
- Play key role in performance reporting, pitchbooks, Private Placement Memorandums (PPMs), Due Diligence Questionnaire's (DDQs) and Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs)
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance. or related degree required
- Big 4 or Regional Public Accounting foundation is a plus
- Investor relations experience a plus but not required
- Fund Accounting a plus but not required
- Excellent understanding of financial modeling and valuation concepts/techniques
- Familiarity and/or passion for commercial real estate, fund finance and investment relations
- Advanced Excel capabilities are required, along with big data analytics experience a plus
- Excellent communication skills and thrives in a collaborative environment
