Software Engineer (PHP/Laravel, SQL Server)

Location: Montvale, NJ - 3 days a week on-site

Salary: 140-150K Bonus

Must have the following skills to be considered for this role:

• 7 years of PHP/Lavarel experience
• 5 years of SQL Server and or MySQL

Desirable skills:

• AWS / RDS / Lamdba
• Building API's

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key player in our engineering department, you will lead the design and development of innovative software solutions, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, integrate various systems, and drive the development of robust applications. This hands-on role requires both deep technical expertise and strong communication skills, as you'll work closely with other departments and stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable software solutions.
• Architect and maintain high-performance databases, ensuring data integrity and system optimization.
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and implement solutions.
• Manage multiple projects, meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Participate in Agile development practices, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and stand-ups.
• Utilize project management tools such as Jira and Monday.com for tracking and team collaboration.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend adoption when beneficial.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment.

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience in software engineering.
• Expertise in PHP (Laravel), Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
• Strong expertise in MySQL or MS SQL, including database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Google Cloud (Big Query) and Amazon AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, SQS, CodeDeploy).
• Strong expertise in Linux, Apache, system administration, security best practices, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with development tools such as Docker, VS Code, MySQL Workbench, Azure Data Studio, Sublime Text, and Postman.
• Proven experience working in Agile environments, utilizing tools like Jira and Monday.com.
• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs, optimizing for performance and scalability.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
