FAMILY OFFICE IT DIRECTOR
Compensation range: $275k-$375k
The Director, IT-Family Office, is responsible for leading a specialized IT department within the Family Office, combining technical expertise with strategic management. The role involves being the primary contact for the principals' technical needs, developing a comprehensive IT support program, and building and leading a team of technicians. This position reports to the VP, Family Office, and collaborates with various stakeholders, including the corporate IT department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Establish and lead the Family Office IT department, focusing on exceptional technical and customer service standards.
- Oversee 24/7 support for personal and company technology, including frequent travel to remote properties (up to 50% travel).
- Manage IT-related activities for family office staff and principals, covering hardware, software, network management, and home/office automation systems.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring integrated and efficient IT support.
- Handle vendor relationships, including procurement and project management.
- Uphold privacy, security, and compliance standards in all operations.
- Offer hands-on support across various technologies, such as PC/MAC, mobile devices, AV systems, and home automation (e.g., Crestron).
- Build and lead a team of IT technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and professional development.
- Responsible for configuring and maintaining network equipment, ensuring adherence to best practices and security protocols.
- Proactively explore and assess emerging technologies for potential implementation.
- Ensure effective purchasing and management of technology-related items, maintaining accountability and compliance.
- Develop and maintain IT support documentation and privacy policies.
- Engage in direct communication and relationship building with high-level stakeholders, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.
- Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 10-15 years of experience in IT, including significant experience in leading and building teams.
- Demonstrated ability in IT management, particularly in a family office or high-privacy setting.
- Strong technical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience managing IT projects, vendor relationships, and team dynamics.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
