Our client, a law firm, is looking for a temporary Legal Assistant to support their New York City office. The ideal candidate will be tech savvy, a self-starter, and have strong attention to detail!
This position starts asap and will last for about 2-3 months.
Location: Midtown
Hours: 8am – 5pm
*Fully Onsite
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal administrative support, service, and expertise to staff and clients
- Receive and organize mail
- Notify clients of receipt notices, approval notices, and employment/travel authorization approvals
- Prepare and send out case engagement agreements, questionnaires, and initiation packages
- Assist Supervising Paralegal and Partners with case initiations, preparation, and filings
- Prepare, organize, and maintain spreadsheets and or other workflow management systems to track client information and cases
- Assist with general filing as needed
- Submit and track case inquiries
- Researching and maintaining up to date knowledge of changing immigration laws
Requirements:
- Previous experience with business immigration
- Must be tech savvy, proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to demonstrate absolute discretion with sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team player mentality, while also being able to work independently
