Senior Estimator / Project Engineer – Upstream Oil & Gas (Alaska)
Are you a seasoned Estimator and Project Engineer ready to tackle Alaska’s unique upstream oil & gas projects? We’re looking for a driven professional with expertise in cost estimation, project engineering, and execution planning for large-scale upstream, midstream, and downstream projects. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring successful project planning, budgeting, and delivery while maintaining top-tier safety and environmental standards.
📍 Location Requirement: Must currently reside in Alaska or have previous experience working in Alaska’s upstream O&G industry.
✅ What You’ll Need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum, or related field) required.
- Certifications: PMP certification preferred; Certified Cost Estimator (AACE, ICEAA) or PE license is a plus.
- Experience: 10 years in oil & gas project estimating and engineering.
- Hands-on experience with FEED, EPC, and cost estimation.
- Background in offshore/onshore drilling, pipelines, and facility construction in remote areas like Alaska.
- Familiarity with Alaska/U.S. regulatory compliance and permitting processes.
💻 Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in estimation software (Aspen Capital Cost Estimator, Cleopatra, Sage Estimating, etc.).
- Expertise with Primavera P6, SAP, and Microsoft Project.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM, and engineering design software.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specs.
📌 What You’ll Do:
Estimating & Cost Control:
- Develop detailed, accurate cost estimates for pipelines, refineries, facilities, and drilling operations.
- Utilize industry-standard tools like Aspen Capital Cost Estimator, Primavera P6, and SAP.
- Perform risk analysis, contingency planning, and forecast potential cost overruns.
- Collaborate with procurement teams for competitive vendor pricing.
Project Engineering & Execution:
- Define engineering scopes, specifications, and deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with ASME, API, ANSI, OSHA, and industry standards.
- Lead EPC projects and coordinate with teams, subcontractors, and agencies.
- Oversee project scheduling, progress tracking, and reporting.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Identify and mitigate engineering, environmental, and safety risks.
- Ensure designs and estimates meet Alaskan and federal environmental laws.
- Support regulatory permitting and stakeholder engagement.
Stakeholder & Client Communication:
- Present cost estimates, progress reports, and engineering solutions to leadership and clients.
- Lead project meetings, vendor negotiations, and subcontractor evaluations.
- Promote seamless collaboration between engineering, construction, and finance teams.
