Title: Senior Operations Manager (on-site role)

Reports to: Regional VP of Operations


The Position

Our client is looking for an outstanding Senior Operations Manager for a growing and leading company in its industry. This position is responsible for upholding the profitability of the organization by leading Manufacturing & Supply Chain operations, meeting sustainable growth expectations, and aligning their responsibilities with the Company’s mission, values, and strategic goals.


Other key duties of this position involve building and developing high-performing work teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Executes & sustain the road map for the operation, with measurable goals that are aligned with their global strategy
  • Implement and run KPI management in the areas of safety, costs, quality and delivery.
  • Champions continuous improvement and waste elimination through specific cost reduction and efficiency-based initiatives, maintaining and controlling CAPEX and OPEX budgets
  • Responsible for meeting and achieving internal and external customer expectations for on time delivery and product quality, day-to-day product demands and new products introductions
  • Monitors inventory levels to support adequate supply of raw materials, work-in-progress inventory and finished goods
  • Support the deployment of Lean / Continuous Improvement mindset on the site´s culture through training & strategic continuous improvement kaizens & workshops
  • Documents and monitors processes to eliminate variation, promoting sharing of best practices
  • Selects, develops, and leads a diverse high-performance team of employees capable of meeting company targets in a fast-paced evolving atmosphere, providing leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development
  • Establishes strong new product introduction (NPI) competence
  • Fosters and sustains a team-oriented culture of collaboration and open communication within the department and across functions throughout the organization, leading the team with a Safety-first mindset
  • Responsible for Quality Control responsibilities, monitoring & improving internal quality on Electronics & mechanical assembly processes
  • Coordinates QC internal performance review and lead continuous improvement initiatives driving customer satisfaction
  • Upholds full responsibility over site´s supply chain including but not limited to warehouse (receiving, warehouse, kitting & shipping), production planning & factory procurement
  • This role is the liaison between operations and customer success teams
  • Provides support and alignment to the Quality Assurance team in terms of executing site´s QMS certification guideline


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and master’s degree, are highly preferred
  • 5 years' leadership experience preferably in Operations Manager/Sr. Operations Manager or Plant Manager roles within the electronics industry (contract manufacturing preferably), with strong electronics manufacturing background. PCBA Production experience (printed circuit board assembly), as well as Surface Mount Technology (SMT) experience, are highly preferred.
  • Experience in leadership at multi-departmental level roles, preferably managing the entire value chain of operations, including Operations (Production, Industrial Engineering and Quality Control), as well as Materials, Planning, Logistics, procurement and Warehouse
  • MRP / ERP experience, preferably SAP
  • Lean manufacturing, six sigma concepts (track record of implementation projects)
  • Strong balance on strategic and tactical experience executing regional / global vision on operational excellence, as well as solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Results-oriented focus on cost reduction and operational efficiency with an agile mindset and data driven decision making (KPI’s management)
  • Experience embracing change with a positive attitude and a crisis management approach, strong enough to support the operation turnaround, sharing and sponsoring best practices along the road
  • Extensive project management and process optimization experience driving results focusing on process optimization with the right sense of urgency
  • Proven talent management experience leading and developing high performance teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels inside and out of the organization
  • Organizational agility to build strong relationships and functional synergy across the organization
