The primary purpose of the Fitness/CFE Coordinator is to implement exercise classes for Residential Living residents and employees on both campuses; to develop and create, coordinate, evaluate, and maintain entertainment and recreational programming opportunities for all residential living residents.
What will I do as an Activities & Fitness Coordinator?
- Conduct employee fitness classes. Teach/instruct both land and water classes and substitute, when necessary, at both campuses.
- Provide aerobics, yoga, relaxation, strength training, flexibility, balance, and/or modified versions.
- Research and schedule entertainers for the residential living residents within monthly budgets.
Plan and engage creative and meaningful life activities, outings, and special events based on residents’ abilities and interests to create a robust calendar of innovative programming. - Travel between campuses as requested and safely drives community vehicles for resident outings. Work closely with and attend special events and “activities/entertainment” committees for both Moravian Hall Square and Heritage Village.
What will I need to be an Activities & Fitness Coordinator?
- BA degree in Exercise Science, Senior Fitness, or related field preferred.
- Certification in group fitness or related field required.
- A minimum of one (1) year experience in planning and leading exercise programs for the geriatric population required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work flexible hours. Including occasional weekends, evenings, holidays and themed events.
