The Contribution You’ll bring to this Role:
The Mechanical engineering intern at Basic Concepts, Inc. will be located onsite in Anderson, SC.
The Manufacturing & Production Engineer Intern will bring fresh perspectives and technical support to ongoing projects, particularly in product design, prototyping, and process optimization. They could assist with CAD modeling, simulations, and testing procedures, helping to refine product designs and improve manufacturing efficiency. By conducting research, analyzing data, and preparing reports, the intern could contribute to decision-making and problem-solving efforts. Additionally, their enthusiasm and willingness to learn could enhance collaboration within the team while supporting innovation and continuous improvement initiatives at the company.
What You’ll Do at Justrite:
- Create sales drawings in SolidWorks 3D CAD to assist with future business opportunities
- Perform lean manufacturing studies in existing manufacturing processes to optimize efficiency and increase capacity utilizing the same labor effort.
- Work with Product Management to develop new products that have been identified as market gaps. Researching materials, testing prototypes, creating BOMs and work instructions and developing packaging requirements.
- Deliver a comprehensive presentation to management and executives at the end of the summer
What We’re Looking For:
- Current undergraduate student in their Junior or Senior year studying Mechatronics
- Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or an equivalent technical degree
- Strong interest in Manufacturing
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Willingness to travel to a JSG location for Intern Training Week
- 10 week commitment
