This role serves as a senior-level financial analyst within the Finance Division, leveraging their experience to influence key financial activities. The individual in this role will have responsibilities to support the finance division in a broad range of activities, including being a key contributor in the companywide financial planning and forecasting process, performing quantitative analyses of information to support business decisions, and supporting long-range financial planning. This position offers significant exposure to various finance leadership levels and other business functions, providing an opportunity to share the company’s financial projections and strategy
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans for the company, and collaborate with team members and business partners to gather inputs and assumptions for financial projections.
- Perform in-depth analysis of variances from plan or forecasted results and prepare presentation materials to communicate results.
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders across various departments and serve as a trusted resource for financial information and analysis.
- Assist in the development of financial plan materials for the Executive Team, Strategic Planning group, and Board of Directors, and provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts.
- Maintain and enhance financial models to support decision-making and scenario analysis and ensure robust documentation of all supporting assumptions.
- Assess opportunities to improve data quality from source systems in order to better trend, analyze and leverage future AI capabilities to enhance expense budgeting and variance analysis.
- Support efforts for expense and other performance benchmarking studies, particularly around data collection, review of results and developing tools to assist departments with expense analysis/alignment with goals coming out of the benchmark review(s).
- Participate in ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects to evaluate strategic opportunities, capital management, and other business initiatives.
- Assist in implementing improvements and best practices to streamline financial planning and analysis processes, increase efficiency and effectiveness in financial planning activities, improve data accuracy, and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Lead the monitoring and analysis of industry and competitor results and provide updates to finance leaders and executive team members with key insights.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in financial planning and analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Accounting or Finance required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional designation preferred.
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience in an accounting or financial analysis role and proficiency working within a financial planning software required.
- Strong accounting and financial skills, with knowledge of insurance industry or related financial service sector and statutory accounting experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal analytical skills with demonstrated ability to model, interpret and report financial data.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
- Effective organizational skills to maximize time limitations, meet deadlines, and prioritize requests and assigned tasks.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- High degree of discretion / confidentiality, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
- Senior-level experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel/MS Teams.
PREFERRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required, commensurate experience to be considered.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional designation preferred.
- 4-6 years related experience required.
- Insurance industry experience preferred.
