The Analyst I/Gas Scheduling is an individual contributor responsible for the scheduling and confirmation requirements for Great Basin Gas Transmission Company’s (Company) natural gas activity on Company-owned and third-party pipelines. This position is responsible for validating and maintaining various software programs utilized in the scheduling, tracking, and recording of natural gas on the Great Basin and upstream pipeline systems. In addition, this position is responsible for evaluating and reconciling the output of these systems to effectively facilitate the movement of gas on multiple pipelines for receipt by Great Basin and redelivery to Great Basin Shippers, and documenting and communicating consumption, trend information, and metrics to a variety of internal and external clients, including Great Basin shippers and their agents.
QUALIFICATIONS
There are clear precedents and practices which the incumbent uses to determine how this job is performed. This position requires one to three years of relevant work experience and a bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, business, management information systems (MIS) or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential job responsibilities. This position requires good written and oral communication skills in addition to PC software skills with an intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and the ability to work effectively with custom developed software. Knowledge of natural gas measurement and SCADA systems is preferred. This position also requires an individual to have strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills and is adaptable, detail oriented and dependable. The incumbent must be available to work a non-traditional, rotating schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily gas transportation scheduling and confirmation processes on Company-owned and third party pipelines in compliance with customer contract provisions and North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB) cycle deadlines and procedures
- Monitor natural gas flow data and gas quality data to ensure accurate and timely identification and correction of anomalies associated with RTUs in conjunction with Gas System Support Staff
- Coordinate the reconciliation of moderate exceptions between third party pipelines, shipper nominations and confirmations, and accounting including providing all necessary reports and statements to support customer billing
- Become proficient in the use of upstream pipeline nomination software via pipeline internet portals
- Develop and/or maintain the logic for programming moderately complex spreadsheets and databases for the Daily Imbalance tracking program which provides daily operating data to management and customers
- Become knowledgeable of Company and upstream pipeline tariffs, NAESB requirements, federal and state requirements in order to administer and comply with all rules and regulations.
- Recognize system abnormalities that may result in the issuance of tariff-driven compliance requirements and be able to resolve or communicate such abnormalities to internal and external parties including management
- Provide critical support, in-depth analysis and problem resolution in relation to natural gas transportation scheduling activities to recommend enhancements to continuously improve department and system efficiencies.
- Provide critical feedback recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in documenting and maintaining department procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements (FERC, Sarbanes-Oxley, PHMSA) to ensure compliance
- Assist in the preparation of responses for routine data requests from regulatory agencies
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned

SALARY DETAILS
Las Vegas: $65,100 - $94,400
