What are the responsibilities and job description for the Milk Receiver position at Career Start?
Career Start is currently seeking a Night Shift - Milk Receiver in East Syracuse, NY. Preferred candidates will have at least 6 months of manufacturing/machine operation experience and food safety experience. This role supports dairy product manufacturing and is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and quality throughout the receiving and testing processes.
Shift: 4pm to 4:30am – Rotating Shift (3 days a week/4 days a week, alternating)
Responsibilities of Milk Receiver:
- Under supervision. receive, test, and verify compliance of raw dairy, cream, sugars, oils, and CIP chemicals.
- Clean and maintain milk trucks, silos, tanks, and CIP equipment.
- Monitor silo rotation and sample management.
- Maintain raw material records and ensure quality standards are met.
- Identify and report foreign materials found during unloading or testing.
- Maintain the Receiving Log and support professional interactions with tanker drivers.
- Collaborate with other departments (maintenance, production, etc.) to ensure smooth operations.
- Meet goals for production, safety, quality, performance, and cost.
- Report mechanical issues to improve productivity and assist with problem resolution.
- Operate internal HMI systems and cover breaks/lunches as needed.
- Ensure a safe and sanitary work environment, report safety concerns, and support food safety practices.
- Comply with all regulatory and company standards, including SQF and food safety.
Requirements of Milk Receiver:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least 6 months of manufacturing/machine operation experience in dairy/food industry is preferred
