What are the responsibilities and job description for the Handyman / Maintenance Technician position at Career Strategies, Inc.?
Career Strategies is looking for a skilled Handymen to assist with make readies and work orders and play a crucial role in maintaining the upkeep of an affordable housing community.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in apartment maintenance and repairs. The candidate should possess excellent teamwork, a strong work ethic, and resourcefulness.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm
- Location: Rapid City, SD
Responsibilities
· Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, HVAC units, and other mechanical equipment.
· Replacing outlets and doors, installing light fixtures, installing sinks/toilets, and garbage disposals.
· Painting- includes doors, wall touch-ups- basic drywall, etc.)
· Assisting with make-readies, remodeling, trash outs of vacant homes, and repairs
Ability to do tedious and quality work
· Perform preventative and corrective general maintenance duties
· Apply all applicable company policies and procedures such as, but not limited to, company operating and safety standards
· Provide residents with outstanding customer service
· Participates in the removal of snow and ice from sidewalks, walkways, steps, and driveways
· Manages records of activity in the maintenance log
· Pressure washing
Requirements:
· 2-3 years of apartment maintenance experience, building maintenance, or residential experience, handyman
· Valid Driver’s License
· Must have reliable transportation.
· Must be authorized to work in the U.S
· Professional appearance and demeanor
· Must be able to work with power tools/hand tools.
· Able to lift up to 50lbs.
· Outstanding customer service and great communication and interpersonal skills
· Candidate must be computer literate with attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
