Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Prepare patients for examinations, including taking vital signs, medical history, and recording symptoms.
- Assist physicians during exams and procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider.
- Collect and process lab specimens, including blood draws and urine samples.
- Perform basic diagnostic tests, such as EKGs and vision screenings.
- Sterilize medical instruments and maintain exam room cleanliness.
- Educate patients on medication instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate referrals.
- Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR).
- Verify insurance information and process billing and coding tasks.
- Answer phones, assist with patient inquiries, and manage front desk operations.
- Handle patient check-in/check-out procedures and collect co-pays.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program (CMA or RMA certification preferred).
- 1 years of experience in a medical office or clinical setting (preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and patient service skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
