Job Summary :
The Housing Peer Advocate is an integral member of the FLACRA team, providing peer support services to individuals with serious mental illness and / or substance use disorders. This role emphasizes mentorship, advocacy, and motivational support to help clients achieve long-term recovery. Additionally, the Housing Peer Advocate supports administrative functions, including Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) data entry, while promoting recovery-focused outcomes.
Must-Have Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License with the ability to use a personal vehicle for client visits.
- Lived experience with homelessness and substance use disorder and / or mental illness.
- Willingness to participate in peer certification training, with the goal of obtaining CRPA-P certification within 4 months of employment.
