POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Afognak Native Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Communications Manager (CM). The CM will support various strategic communications and outreach projects by assisting with the development of external and internal communication materials, advertising, promotional items, and community messaging and relations efforts.
Primary Duties & Projects:
Communications Planning
Assist the Communications Director with updating and implementing the Afognak Corporate Communications Plan, which includes a Social Media component
Coordinate with Shareholder Services and Lands & Natural Resources to support Shareholder Communications as needed
Assist the Communications Director with identifying recommendations to improve the Corporate Communications infrastructure (e.g., access to brand materials, photo and video archive, communications platform)
Assist the Communications Director with identifying key information and developing a Facebook posting plan with items in the queue
Communications Design & Development
Design visual content for corporate publications, online flyers, social media graphics, events, websites, and other communications that reflect and drive awareness of the Afognak brand for internal and external communications.
Coordinate with photographers, videographers, community organizations, and others to refresh stock images and video content.
Assist with photo and video editing and copy writing for various communications.
Communications Dissemination
Manage a monthly communications schedule for dissemination of key external communications in coordination with the Communications Director and other key departments to ensure fresh social media content (including Facebook and LinkedIn) and Afognak website.
Coordinate quarterly review of Afognak website.
Support Communications Director with Dissemination of corporate publications and identify audiences and channels which are best suited for our campaign messages and assist in implementing strategies to reach those audiences.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Payrate: $34.00 Hourly
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree preferred
T wo years related experience in communications design and development
Project management experience
Publication graphic design experience preferred
Past experience working with partners, contractors, or vendors
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, and prioritize work effectively
Excellent interpersonal skills and judgment, with ability to apply tact and diplomacy in all situations
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)
Able to integrate easily, and work well in a team environment via distance communications
Able to adhere to all policies, and safety and health rules and regulations
