MEP Inspector
AFG Group is seeking qualified individuals to serve as on-site Inspector(s) in the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan area. The Inspector(s) shall serve on building facility of various sizes and complexities.
Responsibilities/Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Inspect the work of all construction activities
- Coordinate pre-construction meetings
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics or computer-generated reports
- Inspection of contractor work in place to ensure compliance with plans, specifications and all applicable codes
- Understanding of scheduling, budgeting, materials and means/methods of construction industry design standards
- Communicate effectively with owner representatives, architects/engineers, end-users’ clients and contractors
- Verify change order scope of work
- Verify work in place quantities and record dates of installation on record drawings
- Review and understand manufacturer details and contractor shop drawings
- Preparing an Inspector's Daily Report (IDR) including manpower, equipment, materials, activities, photographs with identifications and producing project related reports as required
- Provide assistance as required for special inspections
- Assist in reviewing and advising on field conditions and RFI's
- Reviewing approved drawings for constructability and code compliance
- Ensure safe working conditions
- Performing other duties as may be required
