We are currently looking for a seasoned and versatile Project Superintendent to join our team. In this key role, you'll lead and support our labor team, managing roofing projects from start to finish on-site.
PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT
The Commercial Roofing Superintendent is responsible for overseeing crews and ensuring the successful execution of projects. This is an on-site role, vital in assisting and communicating with the Project Manager while maintaining a strong focus on project safety, quality, performance, and deadlines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- On-Site Supervision
- Supervise a crew of subcontractors and field staff for a variety of commercial roofing projects. o Ensure work is performed efficiently, accurately, safely, and in compliance with project scope. o Partner with Project Manager and communicate regularly to ensure all project needs are met. o Address crew performance and site issues, as needed
- Quality & Safety
- Ensure quality standards, safety protocols, industry best practices, and manufacturer’s guidelines are followed on all projects and by all crew members. o Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to identify and address any issues promptly.
- Materials, Inventory, and Equipment Management
- Coordinate the delivery and use of roofing materials, tools, and equipment on the job site. o Manage job site inventory, ensuring efficient usage and minimizing waste. o Manage the procurement of materials, including pickups and acceptance of deliveries. o Ensure the materials needed are at the job site on a daily, ongoing basis.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Keep comprehensive project records, including daily logs, photos, receipts, and proper documentation. o Provide daily updates/reports to the Project Manager for ongoing project communication.
- Client Communication
- Interface directly with clients professionally to ensure satisfaction and resolve/prevent issues.
- Problem Solving :
- Identify and address challenges/obstacles that may arise on-site and work to resolve issues promptly to keep the project on track. o Seek to improve processes, procedures, and workflows on an ongoing basis. o Ability to be flexible with project scheduling, being mindful of weather conditions.
- Hands-On Contribution:
- Actively participate in the installation/repair of roofing systems as needed, leading crews by example and ongoing education.
NECESSARY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- 5 years of hands-on experience in commercial roofing with various roofing systems.
- Proven background in a similar role or as a project foreman within the commercial roofing industry.
- Strong knowledge of roofing materials, techniques, and safety & OSHA guidelines.
- Proficiency in using roofing tools and industry equipment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make decisions under pressure.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with both customers and crews.
- Ability to use iPhone, iPad, Apps, and communicate through text, phone, and e-mail.
- Flexibility to engage in hands-on work when necessary to support the team's success.
- Ability to lift heavy items, utilize ladders regularly, and work at a variety of heights.
- Willing to be trained in using company software for daily entries and tracking.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
