What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Associate- CNC HOBB position at Careers @ Hendrickson?
Position Purpose:
Operate all Hobbs and Rack Rollers in the department to machine splines on S-cam shafts
Hourly or Salary Range: $16.75 - $19.75
Essential Functions:
- Maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety standards in the workplace
- Read work orders to determine material specifications
- Position work piece against the stops, pushes button and/or depresses pedal to activate machine
- Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions
- Check parts visually and with gauges supplied by QA Reports all abnormal conditions to Lead Person or Supervisor
- Keep machine filed with coolant and oil
- Complete work order and Hobb Dimension Reports correctly and legibly
- Follow written and oral work instruction
- Work well with supervision and co-workers
- Willingness to run other machines when needed such as but not limited to Heat Treat & Rack Roller
- Work in a safe manner at all times
- Keep work area clean at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Training:
High School Diploma or GED
Machine Operator experience helpful
Minimum Qualifications:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand continuously for 8 – 12 hours
- Ability to work in tight places
- Strength and manual dexterity sufficient to operate tools to make repairs
- Ability to lift 20 pounds repetitively
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to twist, bend and lift repetitively
- Ability to stand, crouch and climb to perform repairs, use ladders and perform various types of manual labor
- Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills
- Visual (with correction) sufficient to read blueprints and orders and the ability to record the information either manually or in a computer
Environmental Conditions:
- Exposure to a noisy work environment
- Exposure to hot and humid conditions
- Exposure to coolants, oils, grease and water
- Ear and Eye protection required at all times in all production areas
- Steel toe boots with integrated metatarsal guards required in production area
