What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Lead - Split Shift position at Careers @ Hendrickson?
Summary of Job Responsibilities:
Work as a member of the Safety team and in coordination with the HR and Production departments to provide safety program support and training to all associates.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Proactively identify opportunities for improvements in all areas of safety.
· Demonstrate initiative to lead and drive improvement projects to completion.
· Assist with and potentially lead safety team meetings monthly which include Safety Committee, Ergonomics Team, PIT Crew & Hand Safety Team, etc.
· Work with Supervisors & employees to provide safety and administrative support for safety incidents on the shop floor as needed.
· Serves as lead point of contact on the floor for accident investigation and ensure timely and accurate initial data collection of safety incidents.
· Perform Daily Safety Review (DSR) of both buildings.
· Assist EHS Representative to conduct annual refresher training to all employees in health, safety, ergonomics, and other required aspects.
· Help maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures that comply with federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
· Assists in restocking first aid cabinets, Hearing PPE, Safety glass cleaning stations as needed.
· Maintain, track & update Velocity (Safety Online Database) to ensure accurate record keeping
· Assist with managing Hazard ID submissions daily
· Administrative duties may include organizing, tracking & maintaining all training logs related to safety trainings, safety meetings, etc.

NECESSARY SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Working knowledge of OSHA regulations pertaining to industrial manufacturing.
· Working knowledge of existing Hendrickson Safety programs and Production policies and procedures.
· Ability to react in a fast-paced environment by adapting to change and take proactive approach.
· Ability to analyze and resolve potential safety issues with consideration of production needs
· Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately in person and through email as needed
· Ability to recognize and identify areas for improvement
· Basic computer skills & organizational skills (Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel & Word)
· Must be detail oriented
· Ability to work necessary hours across all shifts to achieve high standards.
· 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in welding or metalworking industry.
· Able to successfully complete OSHA 30-hour course
· No disciplinary write ups in the last six months, outstanding attendance and exemplary performance.
· Prior First Responder Training or experience is preferred.
· Member of the Hendrickson Safety Committee or other Hendrickson Safety Team is preferred.
· Can successfully work in both a team environment and work independently
· Must display a passion for safety and the desire to work towards achieving Vision Zero
