Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is responsible for interacting directly with patients, drawing high-quality blood samples, and preparing specimens for lab testing. This role requires a high level of professionalism and the ability to create a trusting and comfortable environment for patients. The PSR II is expected to follow established procedures while ensuring accuracy, safety, and quality in all tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection with confidence and accuracy, following all established protocols and procedures.

Verify patient information (e.g., demographic details and initials) and ensure that all specimens are correctly labeled in the presence of the patient.

Maintain confidentiality and accuracy with patient data and records.

Maintain a safe and professional environment while performing daily duties.

Demonstrate a commitment to process excellence and follow policies and procedures to ensure consistent quality work.

Perform multiple priorities in a high-volume setting and be available to work at various locations as needed.

Communicate effectively with patients, supervisors, and peers to provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive image for the company.

Job Requirements:

Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Phlebotomy skills with expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Flexibility in working hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands.

Demonstrates strong customer focus, good judgment, and the ability to communicate openly with others.

Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

A minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Experience in a Patient Service Center environment is preferred.

Customer service experience in a retail or service setting preferred.

Keyboard/data entry experience is necessary.
