Job Summary
Under supervision of the Team Leader, acts as a liaison between technical staff and business owners. Coordinates with users to determine and document business and user requirements, process flow definitions, and functional specifications. Responsible for document repositories, maintenance, and updates of project documentation library. Assists project team with Producting business user acceptance. Reviews progress and evaluates results for accuracy and efficiency.
The Business Analyst role works directly with the Product Owner to conduct discovery and analysis of features and functionality of a digital platform that utilized OT/IA/SCADA and specifically Ignition. The practitioner works closely with other functions including design, user experience, and technology to Client, analyze, and document current-state knowledge, feature gaps, and potential solutions. They also collaborate with the Project Manager and Product Owner to define, prioritize, and plan the product and development Roadmap.
Specifically, the person must have recent experience working on software application development projects where they are responsible for defining and documenting the application requirements, working with development and quality assurance teams for a successful deployment.
The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communications skills. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in developing functional and technical software requirements and use cases in complex software development and integration projects. The candidate must be comfortable interacting with both front-line and senior stakeholders to discuss business needs and to facilitate a clear understand of issues and their priority.
Superior Documentation skills and Organizational skills are paramount. Must have a driven, intellectual curiosity to understand and anticipate functional issues as systems are integrated. Selected hire will have significant business process change experience and functional command of systems integration efforts coupled with exceptional Use Case Development skills. With heavy documentation behind business process changes amidst the technical integration, the selected hire must have experience with project/process documentation and an ability to create a functional library of cross-referenced documents. The selected hire will have exceptional verbal & written communication skills, be comfortable interacting with Sr. Leaders in Business and Technology, and be proactive in eliciting information, probing for details, and foreseeing technical / stakeholder challenges before they occur.

Write acceptance criteria for stories and defects
Works with management and individual team leaders by contributing strategic vision and integrating a broad range of ideas regarding business solutions development.

Conducts business processes and systems analysis while considering the business implications to the current and future business environment.
Assists with deliverables, cost, schedule, and quality of one or more enterprise solutions projects.

Research functional and technical systems and processes to Client key gaps to enable functionality
Develop recommendations to resolve any functionality gaps
Facilitate scoping and estimation sessions within Scrum Teams
Work with Systems Analyst to enumerate functional and technical Tasks required to enable features and functionality
Facilitate task-creation exercises within Scrum Teams
Facilitate Agile estimation sessions to assess cross-functional effort required to enable functionality
Create, develop, and maintain User Story Backlog to support Scrum Team
Decompose features and functionality into well-formed User Stories to enable cross-functional communication
Document findings in an accessible and organized manner
Ensure User Stories contain all necessary information and data
Maintain Backlog platform and tools (e.g. JIRA)
Ensure that Backlog is current and well-groomed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level and Education Details
o Required: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or related field
Work Experience and Experience Details (in addition to education requirement)
o Required: 8 years of experience in developing functional and technical software requirements and use cases in complex software development and
integration projects including Operational Technology, Industrial Automation, and SCADA (in addition to education requirements).
o Proficient in Jira, Confluence, and Agile methodologies, including. Scrum
o Experience with Ignition platform
