The Site Leader will…

• Facilitate and lead Site Leadership team in setting aggressive goals and objectives in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Profitability and Customer Advocacy and support the team in building plans to achieve those goals

• Build and maintain a high standard of Safety and 5S (workplace organization and cleanliness) that build a “Zero Accident” mindset and pride in the workplace

• Assess the technical and leadership skills and experience of the Site Leadership team and build and drive execution of talent development plans to close gaps that impact the performance of the team

• Drive an effective Leadership Development system from Front Line Leaders to Site Leader that delivers a steady stream of effective, talented leaders

• Lead the development and implementation of an effective Daily Management System for the site within the company Business System including

o Point of Impact Daily Management (KPIs, daily review and cadence of root cause problem solving)

o Site “Compass Room” where we drive a cadence of daily and weekly systemic improvement by…

▪ Monitoring Site KPIs and initiating Root Cause Problem Solving when targets are not being met

▪ Identify 2-3 Breakthrough KPIs where we drive focused systematic improvement via Breakthrough Labs

▪ Utilize Value Stream Mapping, and Root Cause Problem Solving to identify Projects, Kaizens (high impact 1 week improvement workshops), and “Just Do It” tasks that will impact these KPIs and achieve targets

▪ Monitor Projects, Kaizens and Tasks to ensure timely execution and effectiveness (KPI Results)

o Drive an effective Monthly Operating Review to monitor Focus 5 KPI performance and drive effective Root Cause Problem Solving when targets are not met

• Build and maintain a Site environment that contributes to making the site a regional “employer of choice” helping to attract and retain talented people and increasing employee engagement

Objectives / What Winning Looks Like:

• Accelerating rate of improvement in key Focus 5 Metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Profitability and Customer Advocacy)

• Increasing levels of employee engagement

• Attainment of critical Site Leadership Talent KPIs including; Time to Hire; Retention, Succession Plan targets

Critical Candidate Characteristics, Skills and Experience:

Education

Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Technology with preference for Graduate Degree in Business

Professional & Personal

• Proven track record of delivering results in a high-performance continuous improvement environment ideally including…

o Design and manufacturing of complex, highly engineered capital equipment with high degree of SKU mix/complexity

o Mixed model sequenced assembly lines

o Fabrication, Welding, Painting

o Complex planning SIOP / Master Production Schedule to plant daily plans

o Enterprise Resource Planning systems and connections to financial systems

• Deep experience in using/teaching Lean Toolsets, Root Cause Problem Solving and similar continuous improvement methods to deliver high rates of year over year improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Profitability and Customer satisfaction.

• Deep experience in building and maintaining world class Quality Systems in a manufacturing environment including;

o Advanced Quality Planning for New Products

o FMEA (Process/Design)

o Control Plans

o Mistake Proofing / Visual Process Controls

• Experience working in leadership positions with high levels of direct reporting relationship and in positions requiring cross-functional leadership without high levels of direct reports

• Minimum of 10 years experience in industrial manufacturing business

• Experience driving increased customer focus, understanding and value creation across a very internally focused organization

• Innovative thinker, but even more importantly, able to help other leaders and teams get “outside the box” and drive “breakthrough thinking”.

• Has the technical capability to understand and help solve complex problems

• Critical Leadership skills/experience

o Facilitation

o Coaching

o Visual Management

o Making it simple / Reducing complexity to create focus

o Peer/cross-functional relationship building

o Effective written/verbal communication skills

o Ability to lead and develop team members

o Ability to create experiences that change beliefs and ultimately culture change

• Ability and desire to grow into senior leadership roles within Operations or other business functions

• Willingness/ability to travel as needed
