Design Engineer - Traffic/ITS

Muller Engineering Company is seeking qualified candidates for its Traffic Engineering/Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Group at the design engineer level. This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and highly skilled individual who wishes to be part of our expanding team. We are seeking candidates who want to work in a creative and collaborative environment to help deliver Muller’s numerous transportation projects throughout Colorado 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with traffic operations and safety projects including traffic signal timing, microsimulation modeling, multimodal planning, and safety studies
• Design and develop signal and marking plans, construction traffic control plans, and ITS plans (plus other potential traffic-related design work) for transportation facilities, including interstates, interchanges, urban arterials, rural roadways, and multimodal facilities
• Assist mid-level and senior engineers in preparation of studies, reports, and design packages for a wide variety of traffic engineering and ITS projects.
• Perform field observation work when necessary. 
• Other Duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or master’s degree in traffic/transportation engineering) from an accredited college or university.
• Entry level to three years of experience in transportation engineering design.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills.
• A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while working in a team environment and creating designs that support our client’s overall project goals.
• Knowledge of and experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or other applicable software common to the field of transportation engineering is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products is a plus.

Licenses/Registrations:

• Engineer Intern (EI) in Colorado or other state

Salary range for this position is $73,000/yr - $90,000/yr dependent on experience
