Job Description

STC is a science and engineering research and services support company with proven expertise and experience spanning research, development, test, and evaluation in areas including aerospace engineering, earth and atmospheric sciences, chemical and biological defense, military systems and technology, and software development.

Responsibilities: Conduct applied research and development for the detection and identification of Chemical Biological Explosives (CBE) weapons and to enhance current stand-off detection technologies. Research may be completed on CBE training aids, inert training aids, and/or training aid containment systems.

• Provide support for RDT&E projects will be executed for a variety of CBE threats and simulants.
• Support development in the areas of synthetic biology, bio-manufacturing, machine learning and/or artificial intelligence.
• Research to develop and present improved solutions for sensors, biosensors, sensor calibration, sampling, detection, identification, protection, manufacturing and decontamination
• Write code to support the operation and integration of developmental items.
• Remain current on related subjects in the literature and news.
• Contribute to presentations, technical reports and research publications.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Pay: $90k -105k
• Schedule: 40 hours per week
• 401K with up to 4% employer matching contribution

Job Requirements

Education:
PhD 2 years degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s degree with addition years’ experience).

Job Requirements

• U.S. Citizen eligible for a security clearance
• 2 years’ experience in RDT&E with advanced design and manufacturing, engineering testing or product engineering
• Advanced expertise coding in Python or other applicable object-oriented languages
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Demonstrated ability to learn new skills quickly, multitask, and complete work within schedule

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with both chemical and biological detection/identification
• Experience with explosive detection systems
• Applied R&D in Olfactory sciences for detection and identification of CBE weapons
• DoD Secret clearance
