Job Description

STC is a science and engineering research and services support company with proven expertise and experience spanning research, development, test, and evaluation in areas including aerospace engineering, earth and atmospheric sciences, chemical and biological defense, military systems and technology, and software development.

• Employment Category: Full Time / Exempt
• Location: Dugway Proving Ground, UT
• Travel: None anticipated

Responsibilities:

Support the testing and analytical requirements of the chemical mission within the West Desert Test Center. Provide support to planning and conducting independent chemical testing using chemical warfare agents, agent simulants, and toxic industrial chemicals and materials. All efforts will be performed at the customer’s facilities on Dugway Proving Ground, UT.

• Work with or around highly toxic materials
• Perform chemical laboratory testing under the direction of senior scientists
• Support field testing of developmental systems
• Operate lab equipment and instruments, collect data, and assist with data analysis
• Perform routine wet chemistry procedures such as making solutions, dilutions, etc

Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, or related field (an associate’s degree and additional experience will be considered)

Job Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
• Experience in all aspects of set-up, operation, sampling, calibration, quality control, data collection, and troubleshooting for test monitoring in a chemical agent or simulant environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and the ability to multitask, prioritize, and complete work within schedule
