Job Title: Warehouse/Production Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Warehouse/Production Manager to oversee the daily operations of our tea, coffee, and spice production and fulfillment processes. This key role requires a dynamic leader who can manage a team of 10-15 employees, ensure efficient order fulfillment, maintain stringent quality control, and uphold food safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, inventory management, and food safety compliance expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Production and Order Management:
- Manage wholesale orders for tea, coffee, and spice production from start to finish.
- Plan and organize the flow of wholesale orders to ensure timely and efficient fulfillment.
- Oversee the shipping of completed orders, ensuring compliance with customer shipping instructions.
- Manage daily preparation of wholesale orders and schedule pickups with delivery services (UPS, FedEx, etc.).
- Establish weekly production goals and prioritize tasks for team production.
- Team Leadership and Management:
- Provide effective leadership, management, and supervision to a team of 10-15 employees.
- Schedule employee hours as needed.
- Conduct interviews for new hires and provide feedback to the hiring decision-maker.
- Provide orientation and training for new employees.
- Schedule, attend and lead weekly meetings for pipeline review.
- Inventory and Supply Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and request or order new supplies (shipping supplies, labels, paper, etc.).
- Oversee the receipt of inventory, assign lot numbers, and manage storage.
- Ensure accurate tracking of product lot numbers shipped to customers.
- Quality Control and Product Knowledge:
- Maintain proficiency in tea, coffee, and spice knowledge and identification for order fulfillment and quality control.
- Inspect tea, coffee, and spices for quality control.
- Food Safety and Compliance:
- Develop, maintain, and supervise the Company’s Food Safety Management Plan.
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness, food handling, and sanitization procedures comply with FDA requirements.
- Conduct annual food safety training and ensure compliance.
- Ensure Facility maintenance and safety compliance. Establish appropriate procedures and assign personnel to monitor and perform required inspections (Ventilation filters, Fire Extinguishers, First aid kits, cleaning supplies, and other needed items).
- Warehouse and Facility Management:
- Ensure the organization of the warehouse for cleanliness, efficiency, and safety.
- Maintain frequent communication with the Office Director, E-Commerce Manager, and Owner regarding priorities and challenges.
- Ensure facility maintenance and safety compliance.
- Other Duties:
- Ability to lift 60 pounds, stand for 8 hours, and climb ladders.
- Attention to detail is a must.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma (minimum); college degree preferred.
- Proven experience in warehouse management and inventory control (highly desired).
- Moderate experience in supply management and lean operations.
- Experience with creating, verifying, and periodically evaluating and adjusting food safety plans as well as Hazard Analysis.
- Familiarity and experience with the implementing and maintaining Food Safety management act requirements (Highly desired).
- Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (Highly desired)
- Experience with transitioning from in-house fulfillment to third-party logistics is a plus.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to read and speak English.
- Ability to work in an enviornment that requires prolonged physical activity and use of hands.
Work Environment:
- Employees will wear clean, comfortable clothes with closed-toe shoes.
- Hair restraints (caps or hair covers) are required.
- Employees must adhere to strict handwashing and hygiene procedures, following FDA requirements.
