Dockmaster - Boat Club Manager
Job Location: Templin’s Marina
Carefree Boat Club of North Idaho is looking for an experienced, responsible manager to join our crew! If you love being outside, near the water and managing a small team, we want you to be our Dockmaster!

- Is able to work weekends & evenings & early mornings in varying weather conditions
- Preferably has experience with boats & local waterways

Carefree Boat Club of North Idaho offers members unlimited access to luxury boats without the hassle of owning. We take care of all maintenance, cleaning, and fueling. We help our members make memories!
The Dockmaster trains and supervises dockhands, manages inventory, and strives to keep the boat fleet in its best condition. Although the Dockmaster has specific daily job duties, it is essential that the Dockmaster assist club members and their guests with the highest degree of courtesy and professionalism. The member's boating and overall club experience rests on the dockmaster's shoulders.
Your responsibilities include:
- Leverages tools, reports, and insights to make appropriate business adaptations that result in increased member satisfaction and staff productivity. Manage reservations & check-ins/check-outs in an online system.
- Continually monitor weather conditions, local water regulations to inform daily staff. Communicate with the operations team daily.
- Performing the same work duties as those supervised or performing more difficult/skilled tasks to assist in staff performance. Tasks include: cleaning and detailing boats, organizing equipment, performing damage audits, assisting members with boarding/disembarking boats, casting off/securing lines.
- Being present & on the dock supervising staff, maintaining inventory, organizing supplies, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the member is getting the carefree experience.
- Being in constant communication with members as it pertains to their reservation, weather and boat changes, parking and guest information, general questions.
- Executing daily safety and vessel inspection programs, ensuring that maintenance is up to date. Scheduling required maintenance and coordinating repairs with our mechanics or other boat specialists.
- Staying up to date with our vessels, capabilities, systems, amenities and equipment. Ensure that your team can accurately communicate this information to members.
- Enjoying the outdoors! While you are required to be close to or on the dock most days, you will have the flexibility to make your own schedule and take time to enjoy the lake.

- Minimum of 2 years of successful managerial experience
- Demonstrated ability to set standards and hold team members accountable
- Commitment to delivering an outstanding customer experience
- 21 years old with a valid Driver's License
- Experience operating boats in tight waterways, in/out of slips, fueling boats, towing boats
Compensation
- Hourly position of $18-$24 depending on experience
- Tips
- Create your own schedule, and hire and train your own workforce based on our standards but your training style. We want you to manage your crew effectively!
- Unlimited on-the-water power boat training with a licensed captain. (Sailing lessons may be available.)
- Opportunity to build relationships with staff, other boaters, mechanics, and captains.
- Usage of the fleet on non-member days, with approval of Operations Manager.
- Personal car gas stipend when driving to and from our locations while working.
