Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Dock Master. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring a top-tier member experience, and driving growth through membership sales and retention. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong business acumen, customer service expertise, and a passion for boating. This position is temporary/seasonal, full-time approximately 40 hours per week, and requires availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays during our busy summer season.

Operations & Fleet Management:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the boat club, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
• Manage the club’s fleet, ensuring boats are well-maintained, clean, and ready for member use including maintaining fuel logs and fueling vessels as needed.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams and marina employees and vendors for timely repairs and servicing.
• Monitor safety protocols and compliance with all local, state, and federal boating regulations.
• Oversee and coordinate needed tasks.
• Gain knowledge of local waterways, safety guidelines, and any relevant information that can support members while on the water.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods, with an emphasis on staying hydrated.

Sales & Membership Growth:

• Conduct tours and presentations for prospective members, highlighting club benefits.
• Develop and implement member retention programs to enhance satisfaction and engagement.
• Review and evaluate member feedback each week, implementing actions as necessary.

Customer Service & Member Relations:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with members, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
• Address member inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
• Organize member events and activities to foster community engagement.
• Communicate with members including contradictions, damages, and charges.

Team Leadership & Management:

• Work with the General Manager to recruit, train, and supervise dock staff and administrative personnel.
• Create staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
• Foster a positive and team-oriented work environment.
• Cultivate and uphold a positive, collaborative team environment at your club location, working effectively with associates and team members.

Financial & Administrative Duties:

• Assist in tracking expenses.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with club policies.

Qualifications:

• Experience in customer service, preferably in the boating, hospitality, or recreation industry.
• Be at least 18 years old, valid driver's license, and successfully pass a background and educational check.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of boating operations, safety regulations, and maintenance preferred.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Boating certifications or willingness to obtain them (e.g., USCG Captain’s License) is a plus.
