What is expected of you for success in your role?
Demonstrate knowledge in:
System-level medical device technology with mechanical parts, electronics, software, and algorithms
Medical device concept development
Clinical environments and clinical aspects of medical device usage
Data analysis, signal processing, and/or algorithm development
Responsible for:
Coordination of aspects of system-level concept development and its integration
Aspects of informal and formal system level concept development and user testing
Translating voice of customer and stakeholder needs into target product profiles, concept functions, system architectures, and system requirements
Leading aspects of system level technical feasibility and risks assessments
Leading aspects of proving technical feasibility of early-stage concepts
Resolution of assigned technical issues
Facilitating multi-functional team knowledge sharing and experiences to promote the understanding and resolution of concept development issues and proof of technical feasibility
Accurate data analysis and conclusions
Identifying potential hazards and associated risk control measures
Writing and submitting invention discoveries (team and/or individual)
Finding opportunities and driving continuous improvement efforts
Clear and accurate communication of results and conclusions in presentations to others
Meet planned individual, R&D, project achievements
May be required to travel up to 25% of time
Qualifications:
Must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering. A post graduate degree is desired.
2 years related work experience (or combination of work experience and advanced degrees).
A strong technical background and experience in Biomedical Engineering.
Early-stage concept and technical feasibility or research in biomedical engineering and/or the medical device industry; Experience may include identification and prioritization of user needs, translation of user/business needs to system requirements, system architectural development, functional modeling and simulation, systems integration, hazards analysis.
Experience with medical device new product development.
Hands-on experience with experimental design and data analysis.
Experience with signal processing and/or algorithm development is preferred, but not required.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-functional medical device team.
Ability to collaborate productively within multi-discipline engineering teams that may consist of mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers, biomedical engineers, and algorithm engineers to meet planned achievements.
Excellent multi-functional communication skills, strong technical writing skills, and attention to detail.
Proven ability to bring clarity to ambiguous areas to drive decisions.
Proven history of achievement, learning agility, and action orientation.
